A BOUT LCS-EASTThe Lions Clubs of Singapore East was chartered on 9 January 1961 with 27 members. The Club has grown steadily to a membership strength of 44. Our Club is the fourth club to be chartered in Multiple District 308 with the Lions Club of Singapore Host being the first club, followed by the Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Host and Johor Baru. In the Republic of Singapore, we are the second club to be chartered. Through the years, Our Club has sponsored 15 Lions Clubs, 1 Lioness Club, 2 Leo Clubs and twinned with 11 Lions Clubs around the Asian, Pacific region and the most recent in France (Colmar) in October 2004. We have produced the following Past District Governors to serve a total of 7 terms in the District.

A greater achievement is when Lion Eng Ah Koon served as International Director for a two year term 1978/80.
In the fiscal year 1983/1984, our District 308 bifurcated into a Multiple District. Lions Clubs in Brunei, East Malaysia, Johor and Singapore were classified under District 308A and the remaining clubs in Malaysia came under District 308B. Our LION ALEC F H CHIN took office as the first District Governor for District 308A.
IPDG Sylvester Heng completed his 2004/2005 term as District Governor on 01 July 2005 when he handed over his duties to the next DG in the 88th International Convention in Hong Kong.
The late LION PETER FU was elected as International Director for FY 1997/99 at the International Convention on 5th July 1997 in Philadelphia, USA. PID passed away on 02 July 2005 after a long illness.
